How to Create a Volume & Quantity Discount Sale

A step-by-step guide to running a quantity & volume discount campaign

Updated over a year ago

Aim to motivate customers to buy more by providing discounts dependent on the quantity or volume of items they purchase. This campaign allows you to establish various discount levels based on the number of items a customer adds to their cart or their total purchase amount.

You can follow these steps to create a quantity & volume discount campaign:

  1. Click the "Create campaign" button from the home or campaign page.

2. Give your campaign a “name”.

3. Select your discount campaign's "Quantity & Volume Discount Sale" type.

4. Set the "Minimum purchase requirements".

It would be best if you defined the minimum criteria customers must meet to be eligible for the discounts. You have two choices: specify a "minimum quantity of items" to add to the cart or establish a "minimum purchase amount". This requirement is a threshold that customers must reach to access the discounted prices.

5. Set the "Apply minimum requirements to".

Next, you can decide whether to enforce the minimum requirements for all items in the cart as a whole or for each item separately. Collectively, applying the requirements means customers must meet the minimum quantity or purchase amount across all items in their cart. Conversely, using the requirements individually means that each item must meet the minimum criteria. This choice impacts how customers can combine different items to be eligible for the discounts.

Please remember that these options only pertain to the products chosen for the campaign.

6. Apply the "discount tiers".

Now, let's set the discount tiers. Apply various tiers based on the quantity or volume, indicating the minimum quantity of items or purchase amount for each tier. Assign a discount value for each tier, whether a percentage or a fixed amount. Consider providing more significant discounts for higher tiers to encourage customers to buy more items with increasing incentives.

7. Select whether to apply the “discount once or not (for fixed discounts only)”.

Decide whether the discount should be applied once per order or once per item. Using the discount once per order means that the discount will only be applied once, regardless of the number of items or the total volume. Conversely, applying the discount once per each eligible item means that customers will receive the corresponding discount for each item in their cart separately.

8. Select the “Eligible products”.

Choose the products to be part of your campaign by setting different filters, and you can also remove particular products within the chosen group in the "Excludes" section. You can enable the "automatic update" feature if you wish for your discount campaign to be continuously adjusted whenever you add, remove, or modify products in your store.

9. “Schedule” your quantity & volume discount campaign.

Specify the campaign's start and end times. You can also opt to initiate your campaign instantly and/or choose not to specify an end date, in which case the campaign will stay active until you manually deactivate it.

10. Review your quantity & volume campaign's "Summary" section.

Within the "Summary" section, you can see the detailed information of your quantity & volume discount campaign.

11. Review the "Discount Preview" section.

Within the "Discount Preview" section, you can see a preview of how the prices will appear on both your product page and cart page.

12. "Save" your quantity & volume discount campaign.

Now, you can save your quantity & volume discount campaign. If you schedule your campaign to run immediately, you will activate the campaign.

13. Congratulations!

Your quantity & volume discount campaign has been successfully established using Discount Prime. You can edit the campaign whenever you want.
